This is a surreal day for me. What started a year ago as anonymous strangers talking on the internet about what could be, to us here today, launching out first real world brick and mortar experience, has been…exactly as planned, and yet still incredible to see come to life.
This Pop Up really represents two things for me. It’s the culmination of where we’ve been so far – the art launches, the first fashion collection, spending thousands of hours talking with our community online, and finally being able to get everyone together physically to see, and touch, and experience Vivid.
But it’s also the launching off point, for everything we have planned after this. New fashion collections, retail expansion, more Pop Ups in places like Tokyo (next month!), and way more. This is the turning point moment for the accelerated expansion of everything we have planned in fashion and physical.
But musings aside, the Pop Up is going to be awesome. Acky will be there doing a live draw all weekend. We have enormous beautiful Acky art across the walls and windows, bigger than I’ve ever seen. We have a brand new fashion collection designed by Zap, with everything from tees to jackets to pants to hoodies and skateboard decks. We have gifts for our community, and a party Saturday night, to meet the community that has brought us this far, and to introduce Vivid to those that are new. We’ve wrapped my car (so that everyone on the 405 can get a little glimpse of Acky art while on their evening commutes). And lots more in store – I can’t wait to share with you Vivid’s new fashion collection, and our first Pop Up experience of Vivid brought to life.
